As far as fan reactions go- I think there was mixed feelings all around. There were some die-hard Antigone fans that were pretty upset when the band broke up, and I think many people felt somewhat “abandoned”. The end of the band was sudden, unexpected for many, and surprising given that there had been many tour dates set up and then subsequently canceled. Then you really got going with your own stuff, and I think many fans felt that they had to pick sides- I know I felt that way. It felt very personal, particularly because the whole band had taken such great strides to connect with the people and the fans on such a personal level. At this point, though, at least for me- I want to get my thinking back to the *music*, and away from the emotions and reactions of the split. I haven’t seen you play solo yet, but I’m definitely going to change that once you come back to NY to gig…

First of all, congratulations to you both on your engagement! As a wedding planner (hint hint) I can’t help but wonder who a fabulous singer hires to sing at her wedding? I’m dying to know who gets the nod. Is it going to be big to do? Big Italian weddings are simply the best!

Second, I was delighted to see this blog in my email this morning and here’s why. Last night I had about a 50 mile drive home and realized as I entered the freeway I had no cd in the dash. Ick! Broadcast radio for an hour, no thanks! I reached above my head in the dark to grab something from the visor cd holder thingy…didn’t matter what because it’s all good…and slid it in the player. Cassidy Project live broadcast from The Cutting Room (7/15) last summer. Mmmm! Good to me! Then I thought man Cassidy has really been on the DL lately, maybe I’ll drop her a line. Then I thought wtf, she doesn’t respond anyway…but it’s cool…I understand artists need their downtime…she’ll come out when she’s ready. Who knew she couldn’t see us? (Proof and By My Side from that night are off the chain, btw).

Anyway…YES we are still here and YES we still love you. Please say the new record is almost finished and please come sing for me soon. I need you like water.

“it was a bit of a blow to my well, ok, somewhat fragile ego when almost none of you commented or wrote back to me at all. Considering there are A LOT of you who actually get this blog and I thought you liked me…..you really liked me. I was hurt. Could it be that SO many of my once loving and expressive followers have now jumped ship because I decided to try something new? Is it possible that asserting my independence sent so many running in the other direction?”

That time was a traumatic one for both the then entity and the long time fans. I’m still surprised how relatively easy was for me to get through that. Maybe because it was not difficult for me to accept what everybody decided. So I stayed. With everybody.

Because everybody always had my unconditional support. So I was prepared to support even five new distinct entities then. After the regrouping, nowhere did I see “If you support one party, don’t support the other”.

And if I had seen, I woulod have asked to understand.

Of course we love you and miss you. Now I am going to have to catch up.

And you writing is great and clever!!!
